China Green
Organic Gunpowder
This classic green tea gets its name from the unusual way the leaves are rolled into balls, reminding one of the British soldiers with their gunpowder. The tightly rolled, shiny dark green tea pearls “bloom” gracefully in hot water and produce a pale, bitter cup. For those finding the first brew too strong, the liquid can be tipped away and the leaves re-infused, as this second brew is much milder. $2.50 per oz.
Organic Mao Feng
Superior grade China green tea with a pronounced fruity-nutty flavor and aroma of roasted chestnuts. A rich finish and a refreshing, lingering aftertaste. $3.25 per oz.
Organic Dragon Pearl
An early spring harvest green tea picked in the misty mountains of Fujian, China. Only the most tender green tea buds and select leaves are hand-rolled into small pearls, giving this tea its exquisite shape. This silvery, down-covered green tea has a flowery aroma and the subtle sweet taste of white peaches. $4.65 per oz.
Organic Dragon Well (Long Jing)
Dragon Well is the most famous green tea in China and is prized for its cooling and detoxifying powers. This 100% handmade Dragon Well imparts a mellow flavor, chestnut aroma and a crisp, bittersweet finish. $4.75 per oz.
Organic Green Peony Rosette Special
Tender, white, down-covered tea shoots are tied by hand into flower shapes with thin silk threads. This special tea has a sweet, almost peachlike flavor and wonderful appearance. An ideal tea for travelers.
Brewing: Place one rosette into an 8-ounce bowl and cover with 185°F water for 2–3 minutes. Re-infuse to enjoy many bowls. $2.75 per rosette
